Did you know that Chef Mario Batali stepped away from the day-to-day operations of his culinary empire and from the ABC show “The Chew” on Monday, as allegations emerged that he committed sexual misconduct spanning at least two decades?

Did you know that in the investigation by food website Eater, four women — three of whom have worked for Batali — said he touched them inappropriately?

Did you know that Batali did not deny the allegations, saying in a statement that “although the identities of most of the individuals mentioned in these stories have not been revealed to me, much of the behavior described does, in fact, match up with ways I have acted?”

Did you know that Batali said “That behavior was wrong and there are no excuses,” he said. “I take full responsibility and am deeply sorry for any pain, humiliation or discomfort I have caused to my peers, employees, customers, friends and family?”

Did you know that the revelation had immediate consequences for Batali’s television career, but it’s unclear whether his other ventures will be affected?
