Did you know that Leucism is a reduction in all types of skin pigment, not just melanin?

Did you know that Vitiligo or leukoderma is a chronic skin disease that causes loss of pigment which produces white patches?  Any part of the body may be affected., resulting in irregular pale patches of skin. Usually both sides of the body are affected. Common areas of involvement are the face, lips, hands, arms, legs, and genital areas.



Did you know that Alphos (from Greek ἀλφός alphos "a dull white leprosy") is a form of non-contagious leprosy, formerly described by the physician Celsus under the name of vitiligo? a term now used for another skin disease. In alphos, the skin is rough, and looks as if it had drops of white on it, not much differing from morphea.
