   Bao Xishun was born on November 2, 1951, in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia, China.
2. He is of Mongol ethnicity.
3. Bao Xishun was of normal height until he was sixteen years old.
4. He served in the People's Liberation Army for three years.
5. 

   In 2005, Bao Xishun became recognized as the world's tallest living man by Guinness World Records, measuring 7 feet 9 inches (236 cm) tall.
6. He once worked at the Chifeng City local hospital for several months.
7. In December 2006, Bao Xishun used his 1.06-meter-long arms to help veterinarians remove shards of plastic from the stomachs of two dolphins.
8. Bao Xishun married saleswoman Xia Shujuan on March 24, 2007, with a traditional Mongolian ceremony following on July 12, 2007.

   The couple had a son, who was born at a hospital in Zunhua, Hebei province, on October 2, 2008.
10. Bao Xishun appeared on the eleventh episode of The Amazing Race 16 as the "Pit Stop" greeter, which aired on May 2, 2010.
